Through the experiences of its members, RURENER emphasizes the critical role that rural areas play in making the energy transition a reality across Europe, and it strives to ensure that the voice of rural communities is heard and respected in Brussels.

RURENER‘s mission includes: Representing rural European communities in the fight against climate change. Facilitating the exchange of best practices and fostering collaboration between European communities. Providing rural communities with the tools to develop and implement their own energy strategies. Promoting technical, organizational, and social innovations that have been tested on the ground. As an advocacy-driven network, RURENER supports rural communities in accessing EU funding and managing EU projects. RURENER actively brings the concerns and needs of its members to European decision-makers. Additionally, RURENER animates its network through newsletters, general assemblies, learning trips and various collaborative activities, ensuring that our members stay connected and informed.
